PRIVACY POLICY

NeuTrainer LLC (“NeuTrainer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a training, recovery, and well-being application for athletes, coaches, trainers, and parents (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (neutrainer.com) and the NeuTrainer mobile application.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who This Policy Covers

NeuTrainer is used by several types of people:

  • Athletes including minors (see Section 5, Children’s Privacy).
  • Parents/Guardians, who may create and manage accounts on behalf of their children.
  • Coaches and Trainers, who work with athletes and teams.

Throughout this policy, “you” refers to the person using the Service. Where an account belongs to a minor, references to “you” include the parent or guardian managing that account.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. Your name, email address, and the role you use (athlete, parent, coach, or trainer). We use passwordless email sign-in.

Athlete profile information. Information used to personalize training and track development, which may include date of birth or age, sex/gender (optional), sport(s), position, team affiliation, physical measurements such as height and weight, and postal/ZIP code (used for time zone and local context).

Health and well-being information. This is the heart of the Service and includes information you choose to log, such as: daily check-ins (sleep, soreness, fatigue, mood), pain and body-signal ratings, illness status, injury or “hurt” status and return-to-play notes, training load and intensity, performance tests, and benchmark results.

Health data (Apple Health). With your permission, NeuTrainer reads your sleep data from Apple Health to pre-fill your morning check-in and inform your training readiness. It is used only to provide app features, is stored with your account, and is never used for advertising, sold, or shared with third parties for their own purposes. NeuTrainer does not write any data to Apple Health. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, or by turning it off in the app.

Content you create. Your profile photo, messages, notes, sessions, and other content you enter into the Service.

Usage and device information. When you use the app or website, we (and our service providers) may automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, log data, and similar technical information.

Website analytics. Our website uses analytics (Google Analytics, via the MonsterInsights plugin) to understand site traffic. This may set cookies and collect standard analytics data such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from IP address.

We do not intentionally collect more sensitive categories of data than what is described above, and we do not collect payment card numbers directly — subscription payments are processed by the Apple App Store (and, in the future, Google Play), not by us.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and personalize the Service;
  • Track training load, recovery, and well-being and surface insights to the appropriate people (for example, showing a coach readiness flags for their athletes);
  • Enable communication between athletes, parents, coaches, and trainers;
  • Power optional AI features (see Section 7);
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug problems;
  • Communicate with you about the Service; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. How the Service Shares Information Within NeuTrainer

NeuTrainer is built around teams and relationships, so some information is shared with other users by design:

  • An athlete’s training, performance, and well-being information may be visible to the coaches and trainers they are connected to and to a connected parent/guardian.
  • A parent managing a child’s account can view and manage that child’s information.
  • Coaches and trainers can see some information for the athletes and teams they are responsible for.

We design these permissions so people see the information they need for their role. You should only connect with coaches, trainers, teams, or family members you trust.

5. Children’s Privacy

NeuTrainer is intended to be used by youth athletes with the involvement of a parent, guardian, coach, or other responsible adult.

  • For athletes under 13 in the United States, we require verifiable parental consent consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A parent or guardian creates or approves the child’s account and agrees to this Privacy Policy on the child’s behalf.
  • We collect from children only the information reasonably necessary to provide the Service.
  • A parent or guardian may review their child’s information, request that we correct or delete it, and withdraw consent (which may require us to close the child’s account) by contacting us at [email protected].
  • We do not condition a child’s participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary, and we do not knowingly use children’s information for advertising.

If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate parental consent, contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.

6. How We Share InformationWith Others

We share information outside NeuTrainer only as follows:

  • Service providers. We use trusted vendors to run the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting) and providers that deliver push notifications (such as Apple Push Notification service). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual protections.
  • Error and crash reporting. We use Sentry to receive crash reports and diagnostic logs so we can identify and fix problems. These reports are not linked to your identity.
  • AI provider. If you use optional AI features, relevant information is processed by a third-party AI service (Anthropic). See Section 7.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NeuTrainer, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If NeuTrainer is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. AI Features

NeuTrainer may offer optional AI-powered features (for example, “AI Coaches”). When you use these features, relevant training and well-being information may be sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. We do not permit this information to be used to train third-party public models, and AI outputs are informational only and are not medical or professional advice (see our Terms of Service).

8. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, and is protected by access controls, including row-level security designed so that users can access only the data they are permitted to see. We use industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of significant incidents as required by law.

9. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You (or a parent, for a child’s account) may request deletion as described in Section 10.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. You can exercise these rights — or ask questions — by emailing **[email protected]**. A parent or guardian may exercise these rights on behalf of a child.

You can also:

  • Update much of your profile information directly in the app;
  • Control push notifications through your device settings; and
  • Control website analytics cookies through your browser settings.

11. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites or services we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. International Users

NeuTrainer is based in the United States and the Service is operated in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
